Annville Township is located between Lebanon and Hershey, Pennsylvania, and is home to some 4,500 residents, 100 businesses and Lebanon Valley College.
Annville is a charming small town, and because of Lebanon Valley College, the people there tend to be generally more progressive than one might expect. It has a little bit of everything a small college town can enjoy.
The Annville Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The historic district encompasses the residential core of 18th–19th century Annville with the building styles ranging from primitive 18th century log houses to imposing neo-classical and Victorian mansions. Approximately 30 log houses still survive in the west end of town. The extensive limestone deposits in the area permitted the construction of a large number of stone houses.
Residents of Annville are proud of their historic preservation success. Friends of Old Annville is a non-profit organization that promotes historic preservation and develops an awareness and appreciation of the rich history of the town of Annville. The organization is involved in many community activities including Historic Old Annville Day, a street fair held on a Saturday in June each year. They also sponsor the Quittie Creek Nature Park project and maintain the Historic Annville Train Station.
Annville is largely residential with most industry and commercial services located in nearby communities, and as far as the residents of Annville are concerned, that’s just the way they like it!
